Jeanseau Studio: Art Classes and Academy
Creativity. It's intuitive. It's taught. You have it or you don't. The conversation goes in circles. My answer is to embrace creativity you have to have courage. In my experience as an artist and art teacher I can teach technique to anyone. People can follow directions and make something delightful, pretty or interesting, as I guide them. Students have a wow moment. They want more, the next step and then fear sweeps in.
It's just paint. It's just pencil. Why is the critic so loud? Rights and wrongs start being checked off, biases of what it means to create start getting really loud.
The next step takes courage.
I want to paint, not because I want to be an "artist". I paint because I like how it makes me feel, how it clears my mind. I paint because I feel whole. I don't understand all the neuroscience and research( which there is a lot of). I paint because it gives me voice where words fail. I paint because at this point, I have to.
Creating is a place of peace and wholeness. I invite you to join me.
